Barbara J. Butkewicz

Barbara J. Butkewicz, 83, of Lebanon, Ohio, died Wednesday, Jan. 26 at Ohio living Mount Pleasant Nursing Home. She was the wife of Peter Butkewicz. The couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in June of 2021.
She was born in Dunmore, the daughter of Charles and Mary Juba. Barbara was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, Dunmore, and was a graduate of Dunmore High School, later going on to earn her pharmacy degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. Prior to retirement, Barbara was employed by the Dayton Children's Hospital in Ohio as senior pharmacist.
Her family knew her as the consummate homemaker outside of her professional life she was an exemplary cook seamstress and certainly an irreplaceable member of her family. Barbara was also very involved in St. Barbara's Byzantine Catholic Church in Dayton, Ohio, of which she was a founding member.
She is also survived by two sons, Michael and Gregg, both of Ohio; a daughter, Anne Tinelli, of Italy; a sister, Mary Zayac, of Dunmore; and two granddaughters.
The funeral will be Thursday with Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, Dunmore.
Interment in the parish cemetery.
