Blanche Concetta Buttacci, 92, of Dunmore, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Dominick Buttacci, who passed in 2012.
A lifelong resident of Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Philomena Denicola Castellano. Blanche was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish and a devout Catholic throughout her life.
She will always be remembered for preparing delicious meals for her family, whether it was homemade pizza, ravioli or zeppoli. Having her family with her always made her the happiest.
Blanche is survived by her son and caregiver, Joseph and wife, Flory, of West Wyoming; a daughter, Donna Powell, of Dunmore; grandchildren, Dr. Joseph D. Buttacci, Dr. Concetta Buttacci; Ryan Powell and wife, Amanda; Shelly Powell, Michael Powell; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Lilly Powell; a sister, Mary Danchak, of Dunmore; a sister-in-law, Frances Pichiarella, of Dunmore; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Sean Joseph Powell; brothers, Charles, Michael, Daniel; and a sister, Victoria Santarsiero.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore, from 9 to 9:50 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment, Mount Carmel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
