Dana Marie Lorah

Dana Marie Lorah, born Lausterer, age 53, passed away peacefully at her home in Clarks

Summit, Pennsylvania, on September 2nd, 2026. She was born on March 13th, 1973, to

Patricia Koval Lausterer of Mohanoy City and Walter Lausterer of Summit Hill.

She graduated from Marion Catholic High School in Tamaqua in 1991. She was their softball

pitcher in her Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year. She was musically inclined: she played the

handbells, piano, and sang in the chorus. She then accomplished her spot in the Dioceses

Chorus in her Junior and Senior high school years.

A gifted and decorated softball player, Dana found both joy and purpose on the field. Her talent,

determination, and competitive spirit earned her numerous honors and accolades throughout

her career. Softball was more than a sport to her, but a reflection of the qualities she carried

throughout her life: discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and an enduring commitment to

excellence.

Professionally, Dana built a successful and respected career. She graduated nursing school

from Misericordia University with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing on May 13th, 1995. She

continued her education at LaSalle University and the Frank J. Tornetta School of Anesthesia in

2007 and earned a Master’s Degree as a Nurse Anesthetist. She worked at Moses Taylor

Hospital in Scranton, where she provided anesthesia care on the labor and delivery unit. She

also practiced as a CRNA in an outpatient gastroenterology, and then as a CRNA with the

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Hazleton. She was admired by colleagues for her dedication,

integrity, professionalism, and strength of character within a highly-demanding field. She took

pride in her work and earned the respect of those fortunate enough to know and work alongside

her.

She married her beloved husband Bradley in 2012, and together they shared years filled with

love, family, and treasured memories. They would have celebrated their 14th anniversary on

September 8th of this year.

Above all, Dana was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was her greatest pride and

joy, and she cherished every opportunity to be part of their lives. Her love, wisdom, strength,

and encouragement will continue to guide them for generations to come.

She is survived by her husband, Bradley (53); her children, Rachel (26), Grace (22), and Ella

(11); her grandchild, Rylan (3); and numerous family members and friends. Though

accomplished in so many areas of her life, Dana would be the first to say that her greatest

achievements were the people she loved. Her legacy is one of love, strength, determination,

and devotion. She lived a life marked by achievement, but it was the love she shared - not the

awards she received - that made her truly extraordinary. She will be deeply missed and forever

loved.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, September 10th, from 5:00 to

7:00 pm at Saint Benedict’s Catholic Church in Newton. A funeral service will be held on Friday,

September 11th, at 10:00 am at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, in Newton.
