Deborah Sleboda, 67 of Dunmore entered eternal life on Thursday August 8, 2024 after an illness. She was born in Scranton, daughter of the late Albert and Madeline Tur Sleboda.

Deborah was a graduate of Dunmore high school, class of 1974 and attended Marywood University as a Fine Arts major.She was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral in Scranton. She also had a very strong Catholic faith and lived for the Lord.  Prior to her retirement, she was a dedicated employee for many years at Step By Step Inc., Scranton. She genuinely loved and enjoyed working in this field of care.

Deborah had an incredible passion for cats. Over the years, she rescued several cats, adopted them and gave them the unconditional love they deserved. Left behind are her three remaining fur babies; Smudge, Tigger and Frankie. Deborah was such a knowledgeable woman in so many subjects. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, sketching and doing oil paintings. She was such a compassionate, kind-hearted and independent woman who will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Deborah is survived by nieces and nephews, Tanya Sleboda and fiance Gregg Townend, Brian Sleboda and wife Sarah, Bridget Sleboda Meyers, Bobby Sleboda and wife Sonia, Erin Sleboda and several great nieces, nephews and cousins. She also left behind a lifelong friend, Lillian Jason, who will truly miss the beautiful friendship and love they had for each other.

She was also preceded in death by brothers Dave and Albert Sleboda.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and healthcare workers who have helped her over these past few years. Your dedication & compassion doesn't go unnoticed.

The funeral will be Friday August 23, 2024 with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at St. Peter's Cathedral located at 315 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, PA with Interment at All Saints cemetery in Hollisterville, PA.

Those planning on attending the funeral are kindly asked to go directly to the Church.
