Evelyn Kinack Black passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, in the loving arms of her husband, Robert Black. Evelyn and Robert had just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on August 5, 2026.
Born on February 6, 1941, Evelyn was the daughter of the late John and Josephine Kinack. She graduated from Scranton Technical High School in 1958. Evelyn worked at Haddon Craftsmen for seven years before leaving the workforce to start her family.
Evelyn was a devout Catholic and faithfully served her home parish as a Eucharistic Minister and lector at St. Clare’s Church, which later merged with St. Paul’s Church. Her faith was an important part of her life.
Evelyn enjoyed reading, taking trips to Atlantic City, and cheering on her beloved New York Yankees.
Evelyn is survived by her loving husband, Robert, of Scranton, PA; her sister, Joanne Luke, of Harrisburg, PA; her son, Robert P. Black, of Moscow, PA; her daughter, Karen Coleman, of Charleston, SC; her three grandchildren, Bryce Coleman of Kane, PA, Riley Coleman of Charleston, SC, and Ava Coleman of Charleston, SC; and her great-granddaughter, Patricia Coleman of Kane, PA.
Evelyn will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her memory will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
A graveside service is scheduled at Mount Carmel Cemetery on Saturday at 11 AM.
Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday at the Morell-Labelle Funeral Home 301 Chestnut St. Dunmore from 10 AM until time of graveside service.
