Janet Mele 86, of Clarks Summit died Friday, February 27th after an illness.

Born in Dunmore, Daughter of the late John and Viola Silvi DePietro.

She was a graduate of Dunmore High School and prior to her retirement, she was employed as a cosmetologist.

Janet was a beloved Mother and Grandmother and recently earned the proud title of Nonna. She was an avid knitter and crocheter and for many years she donated her time to make Hats for the Homeless. She looked forward to her weekly trips to Hobby Lobby and for a Caramel Frappe at McDonalds with her Granddaughter, Summer. The most recent highlight of her life were the weekend visits from her Great Grandson, Enzo. The visits were filled with lots of hugs, kisses and love that only a Nonna could give. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and adored the Family pets.

She is survived by her loving Daughter, Marisa and husband, Michael DiCindio of Clark Summit , her beloved Grandchildren, Jon Mele of Hamlin, Alexandra Alpert and Fiance, Nicholas Tenerow of Meriden CT, and Summer Alpert and Companion, Mario Posocco of Dunmore.  A Great Grandson, Enzo Tenerow who was the absolute love of her life, and an Aunt Angela Lorince of Dunmore.

Also surviving, A son, John Mele and wife Kim and a Sister, Sandra Rossi and Husband John.

Private services were conducted at Janet's request.
