Jennie R.  Coar

Jennie R. Coar , 92 of Dunmore died Tuesday at the Dunmore Healthcare Center.

She was married to the late William Coar, who died in January 2010. Prior to his death  the couple had been married 59 years.

Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Pasquale and Angelina (Christiano) Cerra.

Jennie was a member of SS Anthony and Rocco Parish; she was a graduate of Dunmore High School;  and received a degree in Secretarial Science from Lackawanna Junior College.

She was a member of the MM Club and 50 Plus Social Club. She also served as a past Treasurer of Schautz Teener League.

Prior to her retirement, Jennie was employed by Burkes Pharmacy and later Biancarelli Pharmacy.

Jennie is survived by her four sons, William and wife, Laura of Winter Garden, Florida; Michael and wife, Sandy of Dunmore; Patrick and wife, Michele of Harleysville; and  Brian and wife, Kimberly of Collegeville.

In addition, Jennie had six grandchildren; Ashley Coar and Alycia Coar, Brittany Hook (and husband Josh) and Patrick Coar Jr. (and wife Deirdre), and Abigail Coar and Zachary Coar. Also four great grandchildren, Tyler Hook and Gwendolyn Hook, and Patrick Coar III and Katherine Coar.

She was also preceded in death by an infant son, (also named William).

In addition to enjoying her social activities with friends, Jennie was adventurous and enjoyed travelling with her late husband Bill. But her greatest passion was caring for and encouraging her family.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Dunmore at 10:45 AM .

Those attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the  Church.
