Julie Verrastro, 60, of Dunmore, passed away on Friday, Dec. 3. Her husband is Michael Verrastro.
Born in Scranton to the late John and Mary Ann Lucas Malos, Julie shined as an athletic, curious, hardworking and funny girl. A graduate of Scranton Central High School and Lackawanna College, Julie worked as a bookkeeper with ARC of Lackawanna County for more than 30 years. All knew her as a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother. Julie loved music and was the biggest Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots fan around. Beautiful, smart and caring are the three words best to describe our Julie.
In addition to her husband Michael, Julie is survived by three children, Maria Verrastro, Celina Verrastro and Michael Verrastro Jr., all of Dunmore. Julie is also survived by eight siblings, Jack Malos and wife, Lisa, Dunmore; Patty Nole and husband, Carmen, Dunmore; Debbie Rogan, Scranton; Mary Kerrigan and husband, Vince, Scranton; Tom Malos, Nutley, N.J.; Michael Malos, Scranton; Robert Malos, Scranton; JoAnn Hector and husband, Bill, Taylor; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family gives thanks and appreciation to Alexa from the ICU Unit at Moses Taylor Hospital for her kind and compassionate care of Julie.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Morell-LaBelle Funeral Home, followed by a private interment.
