Karen Ann Magnotta

Karen Ann Magnotta died Sunday at St. Mary's Villa. Widow of Frank Magnotta (d. 2016), Karen was born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Joseph Patrick and Helen Muldoon Daley.

Karen graduated Collingswood high school and the University of Scranton, where she earned her degree in theology.

She was a longtime member of Holy Family and St. Peter's Cathedral Parishes, and was employed by the Diocese of Scranton as a Director of religious education in multiple parishes, including Nativity school.

Karen as very active in area charitable community outreach programs, the Laurel Garden club and the 'Zoom Girls'.

Karen s survived by two children, son Mario of Downingtown, daughter Lisa and husband Dan of Dunmore, a brother Joseph Daley of Fredericksburg VA, granddaughter Aliyah Magnotta, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Karen was preceded in death  by an infant son, Francis, daughter-in-law, Melody, and a brother Jerome.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Karen on Friday at 9:30 AM in St. Peter's Cathedral Scranton. The entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday from 6- 8 PM at the Morell-LaBelle funeral home, 301 Chestnut St.Dunmore.

Memorial contributions may be made in Karen's name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma  Society.
