Lois (Nape) Morell, 83, passed away September 26, 2023 at Morningside of Raleigh, Raleigh North Carolina. She is the widow of the late Anthony M. Morell. Prior to his death in 1997, the couple had been married for 22 years.
Born in Scranton to the late Mortimer and Madeline Nape, Lois graduated from the former Central High School and worked for many years at Harper and Row and then in the office at Sproul Construction before leaving to raise her daughter. She returned to the workforce several years later and finally retired from TMG Health in the winter of 2014.
Lois loved reading, cooking, and gardening along with being an avid golfer. Lois and her family spent many summers enjoying the competition at Pocono Farms Country Club with their daughter, extended family, and many friends. She was always very proud of having a hole-in-one before anyone else in her family and her ability to beat anyone with the right amount of strokes!
In addition to her husband, she was proceeded in death by brothers Robert and Vince and sisters Madeline Nape, Helen Barrett, and Nancy Ceccacci.
Lois is survived by her daughter Marlana and wife Heather Morell and grandsons Anthony Samuel Morell and Nikolas Monsees (all in NC), sisters Marylou Sealey and Sylvia Morell (both in Scranton), and brothers John Nape (Taylor), Charles Nape (Scranton), many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Tuesday in St. Eulalia's Church in Elmhurst with Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:30 AM with internment to follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow, PA. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30am until time of Mass, at the Church. Those planning on attending the Funeral are asked to go to the Church. Arrangements provided by the Morell-LaBelle Funeral Home.
In-lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the United States Golf Association.
