Marie Alfieri

Marie Alfieri 95, of Dunmore passed away Tuesday evening at Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the widow of Vincent Alfieri who died in 1990.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Adolf and Julia Nino Becker.
Marie was a graduate of Scranton Tech High School Class of 1948.
She formerly worked and was the co-owner of the family restaurant.
She was a member of St. John Paul 2nd Parish in Dunmore and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society for many years. She was proud of her contribution to the St. Rocco's Italian festival and volunteered tirelessly for the parish well into her eighties.
Marie was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and neighbor who spent endless hours attending her grandchildren’s activities as they grew up. She was also an avid fan of the Dunmore Bucks, Penn State, and New York Yankees.
Marie always put others ahead of herself, serving as caregiver not only to her family, but also to anyone who needed her.
She is survived by her children, Michael and wife, Kathy; Anthony, Elizabeth Bouselli and husband, Anthony; Julie Frick and husband, Robert; all of Dunmore, sister-in-law Luann Becker of Scranton; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Barbara Theis and Nancy Furiosi, and her brother Richard Becker.
Marie leaves behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Allied Rehab Center and Regional Hospital, especially the ICU nurses.
A special thank you to The DeNaples Family for the support and love they showed Marie throughout the years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Rocco's Church 122 Kurtz Street Dunmore on Monday, October 5th at 9:30 AM.
Friends and family are invited to call at the Funeral Home on Sunday, October 4th from 4 PM to 7 PM.
