Mary Carnevale, 104, of Dunmore passed away on Friday, October 8, at Mountain View Care and Rehab, Scranton, where she resided. Mary was married to Michael Carnevale for 53 years prior to his death in 2003. She was born in San Cataldo Italy, the daughter of the late Biagio and Josephine Ferraro LoMonaco . The family immigrated to the United States when Mary was five years old. Mary was raised in Dunmore and attended Dunmore High School. She was employed at the Grove Silk Mill for 20 years as well as various dress factories in the area. Mary is survived by four children: Mary Louise Rzeszewski (Ronald), Dickson City; Frank Lombardo (Joan), Edwardsville; Mary Ann Cianci (Frank), Denton Texas; and Michael Carnevale (Beverly), Jessup. Mary has seven grandchildren: Frank, Mark, David, Gary, Christopher, Lauren, and Michael as well as 12 great-grandchildren: Ashley, Lauren, Felicia, Jessica, Karissa, Tyler, Frank Jr, Dante, Finley Rose, Giovanni, Camila, Dominic, and a sister in law Kathryn Maus, Dunmore. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Rose Dakunchak and Catherine Maus. Mary was an excellent baker and chef; she loved nothing more than going all out to prepare incredible holiday feasts for her appreciative family. The family especially thanks the staff at Mountain View Care and Rehab. for their excellent care during Mary's stay.
