Mary Diane Cogliette
Diane, 82, of Scranton passed away on Thursday, January 11th at Geisinger CMC Hospital in
Scranton after a brief illness.
Wife of the late Joseph Cogliette Sr, Diane was born in Dunmore to the late Frederick and
Mildred Ringler. A graduate of Dunmore High School, Diane also attended Keystone University.
Prior to retirement, Diane worked as Medicare billing team lead at Regional Hospital of
Scranton.
She is survived by her eldest son Joseph, daughter Denise Sherman and partner Michael Ciullo,
youngest son James and wife Tanya, sister Cheryl Sleboda, grandsons Noah and Jonah Cogliette
and Hunter Sherman, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Diane was preceded in
death by sister Barbara Pietraface, Clarks Summit.
Diane entertained many interests throughout her life, including travel, gardening, cooking, and
home improvement. A lifelong learner, she had a deep appreciation for the arts and sciences,
interests she passed along to her children. She and her close circle of friends maintained their
'club' for more than fifty years. All that said, no interest surpassed her love and devotion to her
family. A true 'helicopter mom' in the best and most endearing sense of the term, she was always
there for her family.
The funeral will be held Friday, January 19th with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St.
Ann's Monastery and Shrine Basilica in Scranton, PA .
Friends and family may visit Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the Morell- LaBelle funeral home at
301 Chestnut Street, Dunmore, PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American
Veterans and Boys Town
