Mary Hrebin

Mary Hrebin, 94, of Dunmore, died Tuesday evening at Allied Sevice Hospice Center. Mary was married to the late John Hrebin, who passed away Aug. 4, 1994.

Born on Mannings dairy farm, daughter of the late George and Jula Micovda Fedorka. She was a graduate of Johnson's High School where she studied home economics. Mary was a faithful member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Scranton. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Gertrude Hawks as a production worker.

Mary was an avid gardener and a great cook providing her family with "Sunday dinners at Mary's" for many years, but her most cherished time was spent caring for her many grandchildren. Mary was a gift from God to her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Chris and husband, Richard Sibio, of Dunmore; two sons, Mark and wife, Fran, of Dunmore; Joseph and wife, Stephanie, of Scranton; grandchildren, Kristen, Richard, Jillian, Marc, Lauren (Dolly), Riley and Madison; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Gabriella and William; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was also preceded in death by two sons, Michael and John; a granddaughter, Kara; a brother, Michael Fedorka; and two sisters, Anna Cohen and Cathy Gallo.

The funeral will be Friday with Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, 310 Mifflin Ave., Scranton. Panachida will take place Friday morning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.
