Peter Angelo Castelline, 89, a lifelong resident of Dunmore, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

Born in Scranton on February 1, 1937, he was the son of the late Charles A. and Rose (Williams) Castelline. Peter was a man defined by his work ethic and his unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He spent his career on the road as a truck driver for National Pretzel, a profession that reflected his steady nature and dedication to providing for his family.

Beyond his work, Peter was a man of simple pleasures and a kind heart. He had a lifelong passion for horses, finding great joy and peace in their presence. Above all, he was a dedicated family man who was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His legacy of hard work and quiet generosity will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marlene Castelline. He was the devoted father of Teresa McDermott and her husband, Paul and Peter Castelline. "Grandpa" will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Peter Castelline, Camille Castelline, Matthew McDermott and his wife Maria, and Ashley Walley and her husband, Ken. He also leaves behind his cherished great-grandchildren, Logan McDermott and Addison Walley

In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard Castelline, in 1999, and his sister, Jean Marie Mekilo, in 2009.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Morell-LaBelle Funeral Home, 301 Chestnut Street, Dunmore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 9:30 am at Divine Mercy Parish at St. Joseph’s Church, 312 Davis Street, Scranton. Those attending the funeral are kindly asked to go directly to the church. Entombment at the Cathedral Cemetery Mausoleum will be private and held at the convenience of the immediate family.
