Ralph (Dewey) Montaro Jr. passed away Dec. 20, 2021. He was born Oct. 17, 1937, to Ralph Montaro Sr. and Lottie Blasko Montaro. He graduated from Dunmore High school and was a lifelong resident of Dunmore. He began working early with the family business, Montaro and Sons Masonry, in the 1950's and had success in the game room industries as the sole proprietor and owner of Denise's Game Room. He had continued success in his landscaping business as well. He also shared a love for real estate, with apartment houses, prior to his retirement. In his early years he loved traveling to Buffalo and meeting up with his relatives. His weekends were spent watching football, it did not matter during the season or off season. He was an avid Penn State fan and loved the NFL. There wasn't a weekend that you entered the house that we did not watch football. Surviving are his children, Lottie Montaro Zack and husband, Edward; Denise Montaro and fiancé, Bill Scott; Ralph Montaro III; and his youngest son, Frank Montaro and wife, Donna. He was blessed with grandchildren, Linelle Zack DeNaples and her husband, Chris; Eddie Zack IlI, Sadie Zack, Courtney Montaro, Casey Montaro. His great-grandchildren included triplets Christopher, Zackery and Sophia DeNaples, and Aurora Montaro. Also surviving are his brother, Frank Montaro and wife, Angela; his nephews, Tony Montaro and wife, Diana; Ralph Montaro (deceased) and wife, Susan; and niece, Gina Montaro McGraw and husband, Bobby; great-nephews, Frank, Anthony, Angelo and Joseph Montaro; great-nieces, Maria Montaro, Nicole Nenish, Jennifer Young and Emily Keating. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Montaro; and also his nephew, Ralph Montaro. Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 208 Smith St., Dunmore Arrangement by the Morell-LaBelle Funeral Home.
