Richard A. Kranick, 82, of Clarks Summit, died Sunday at Allied Skilled Nursing

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Cyril R. and Vivian Flynn Kranick.

He was a graduate of Dunmore High School and prior to his retirement he was employed by the Abington Heights School District in the maintenance department. He thoroughly enjoyed model railroading as a hobby and was an avid fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Richard was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish.

Richard is survived by two brothers, Cyril, of Harleysville, and Robert and his wife Joan, of Clarks Summit, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Polentz.

Richard's family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Traditional Home Health and Hospice for the wonderful, compassionate care provided to him over the past years.

Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at St. Benedict's Catholic Church 1849 Newton Ransom Blvd. Clarks Summit at 10 AM.

Those planning on attending the funeral are asked to go directly to the Church.

Friends may call at the Church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass.

The burial will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
