Michael Kapacs

Michael Kapacs died Thursday at CMC Hospital, his loving wife of 48 years was Maryjule (Luby).

Born in Scranton to Alex and Mary Kapacs, Michael was a  member of St. Paul's Church and a graduate of Scranton Tech high school.

Michael served his country in Vietnam in the Air Force and later in the Army reserve.

He was a past commander of the VFW post 5209

Prior to his retirement He was employed by the Tobyhanna Army depot for many years.

Michael was devoted to his family, pets, and his hunting and fishing friends. He was most happy surrounded by loved ones and forever cracking a joke. You know you were loved if you got an awful nickname.

He is survived by two daughters, Kelly (Bruce) and Casey (Joseph) of Scranton and a sister Ann Marie Hopp of Tx, grandchildren, Grace, Anna, Michael, Lilly, Emily, Molly, Nora(the Boss)two grand pups Scooby, Doug, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral will be  Friday in St. Paul's Church 1510 Penn Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 30AM.

Friends may call at the Church from 930 AM until time of Mass.

Interment will be private.

Those planning on attending the Mass are asked to go directly to the Church.
