Stanley A. Tumavitch, Jr., 87, of Dunmore, died Thursday, July 23rd, at Abington Manor. He and his wife, the former Ann Marie Pitta, would have celebrated their 59th anniversary this year. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Stanley and Elizabeth Loyek Tumavitch. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, now St. John Paul II parish in Dunmore.
A graduate of Scranton Technical High School and Pennsylvania State University, Stanley served as an MP in the U.S. Army. He later enjoyed a long career as an architectural designer and inspector for numerous home builders until his retirement.
A kind and gentle man, Stanley was a gifted tradesman who could fix anything
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Lee; a brother, Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald; and two sisters, Evelyn Lampman and Delores Shemanski.
In accordance with his wishes he has been cremated. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 9:30am at St. Anthony of Padua Church 208 Smith St., Dunmore, followed by interment at Cathedral Cemetery.
