Stephen J.  Novak P.E., 94, a lifelong resident of Dunmore died Saturday morning at the Allied Hospice unit.

He was married to the late former Loretta M. Gregory for over 52 happy years.

Born in Dunmore the son of the late Stephen and Julia Lesko Novak.

Steve was a graduate of Dunmore high school and the Johnson school where he earned his engineering degree.

Steve served in the United States Army, afterwords he was employed as an engineer by Billantie and Clause, and later GSGS & B architectural and engineering firm. His career spanned for over 42 years, working on many interesting projects most noteworthy were Giant Stadium, the Statue of Liberty, IBM complex in White Plains New York, Penn State University and finally the Meadowlands Sports complex in N.J.

Steve was always recognized for his generous caring nature and he always prioritized God, Family and country.

He is survived by his caretaker and niece Sharon and husband Len Rupe, nephews Mark Gregory and wife Suzin, Patrick Gregory and wife Jackie, several great nieces and great nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to  Clarks Summit senior living, for their exceptional and compassionate care especially Priscilla Munsayac.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 AM with Mass of Christian burial at our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Dunmore.

Friends and family are invited to call at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9 AM until time of Mass at the Morell- LaBelle funeral home 301 Chestnut St. Dunmore.
