Vilma Valenza 93, Dunmore, died Monday evening at Marywood Heights. She was the wife of the late Salvatore, "Sam' Valenza, who died Nov. 26, 2022. The couple celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Celia Boezi Broschelli.
She was a graduate of the Scranton State Hospital  Nursing School, where she earned  her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Vilma was a member of St. Mary's Church in Dunmore. She was a Eucharistic minister, and very involved in the Pro Life committee.
She is survived by one son, Charles and companion, Amy Damiano, Archbald, two daughters, Darlene Valenza, Dunmore, and Sally Ann Mills and husband, Douglas of Olyphant, grandchildren, Chad, Daniel, Liza, Chas, Isabella, Mia, great-grandchildren, Joshua, Francesca, Dominic, and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by one sister, Eileen Straub.
The Valenza family would like to expressed their sincere gratitude to the staff of Marywood Heights for their care and compassion.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Marys of Mount Carmel Church Dunmore.
Interment Dunmore Cemetery.
Friends and family are invited to call Friday evening at the Morell – LaBelle funeral home 301 Chestnut St. Dunmore from 5 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vilma's name to Marywood Heights, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton.
