William "Bill" Danilich, 88, of Dunmore, died Saturday morning at St. Mary's Villa, Elmhurst. He was married to the former Ann Brunetti for over 62 years.
Born and residing in Dunmore his entire life, he was the son of the late John and Julia Danilich, née Penyak. He graduated from Dunmore High School and later went on to attend the University of Scranton.
Bill was a United States Army veteran serving in the Corps of Engineers where he received commendations for his excellent service.
He was a lifelong member of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church and a member of the Greek Catholic Union. Bill was also a committee member of Boy Scout Troop 66 for many years and was a recipient of the St. George emblem as an adult scouter who made a significant contribution to Catholic scouting in the Diocese of Scranton.
Bill was a member of IBEW Local 81 and employed as a union electrician for many years, prior to his retirement. He was very active in the union credit union and the retirees association, where he served as vice president.
An enormously talented and ingenious man, his home was filled with elegant stained glass creations and "little inventions," contraptions and gizmos designed to make life easier. He was generous and kind, but had a special love for small children. His six grandsons were his "little pals."
