Michael (Junior) P Maira, 91, of Dunmore, died Thursday Jan 1, 2026.Born in Dunmore, son of the late Michael and Josephine Campisi Maira. For over 70 years he ran Maira's Bar in Dunmore. He was kind, generous, truly friends with his patrons, and liked by everyone he met.

As a young man Mike played drums in multiple bands. He enjoyed playing, watching, and gambling on sports. His true pleasures were golf, running the lake with his dog, and the gym.Surviving are a brother, Anthony Maira Columbus Oh, nephews Michael Maira Boise Id, John Jones Scranton, Joseph Giumento. and wife Carol Dunmore; nieces JoAnn Kulcyk and husband John Waunakee Wi,  Rosanne Maira-Slack Columbus Oh; several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by sisters, Gaetana Gabello, Grace Jones, and Mary Giumento; and a brother, Joseph Maira.

The funeral will be Friday from the Morell-LaBelle Funeral Home, 301 Chestnut St, Dunmore,9:30 AM Mass St. Anthony of Padua Church, 208 Smith Street Dunmore.

Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity in Michael's name.
